As a photographer, I love capturing motherhood, to bring the beauty that outsiders can see to the mother’s attention. Being a mom is hard work. It can be filled with a lot of stress, anxiety, monotony. Many times, an outsider looks at a young family and can see the beauty, purity, and preciousness of the season and time. I love as a photographer giving mothers a visual reminder of the beauty and importance of their work. This is what makes me tick.
“I grew up knowing I wanted to be a mother. I think it made me different from my friends in that I was always daydreaming about my future babies. Motherhood has made me a better person. I am more patient, selfless, and have grown to have happiness in new, more simple, aspects of life. I knew I wanted to capture the tiny, newborn details while shew was still young. Everyone says they grow up so fast, I wanted something that would preserve how tiny and perfect she was as a newborn.” Megan, Mother
“The husband in this family attended medical school with my husband. The wife approached me to photograph her family, she said that she had been dreaming of me photographing a newborn session for her for the past four years. It was special for both of us, because this session took place at the beginning of COVID, in such an uncertain time. It felt like the right thing to do to capture this family’s newborn session, before they moved to Houston for the start of their residency program. My Fort Worth studio allowed us the ability to be physically distant and to follow necessary safety protocols while still documenting this precious season of life.
